I was a business developer before I was an architect. I sold Ukrainian developers to western companies, and my job was to start the conversations. I tried every classical approach there is, none of them worked, so I built the thing that did. That is why I don’t ask you for a specification. I have been the person on the other side of that request, holding the problem and unable to write it down.
I left Ukraine in 2022. I was building automation for job applications, aiming at Germany because I speak German, and my script had a bug — it applied to a Norwegian company by mistake. They invited me to an interview. I rode over on the motorcycle, a week through Poland, Germany and Denmark, and I have been in Fredrikstad since.
The twenty years either side come to the same work: a stable interface in front of chaotic reality. Payment providers in 2010, job boards in 2021, model vendors in 2025.

Synthetic and Human is a trading name of Deal Baker Ltd, registered in England and Wales. Contracts are company to company. Work happens from Fredrikstad, Norway, on CET, which overlaps a UK or European working day fully and a US morning in your afternoon.
No hires since 2023, which is the point rather than an omission. The price only holds while it stays that way.
